Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s Abir Gulaal wraps up London shoot, set for release after film festivals.
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor have officially wrapped up filming for their highly anticipated romantic comedy Abir Gulaal.
The duo completed a 40-day shooting schedule in London, marking a significant milestone for the film.
Directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, known for Chalti Rahe Zindagi, Abir Gulaal is expected to be a cross-cultural film that highlights the chemistry between Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. The movie is produced by Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures.
Following the completion of filming, the next step for the production will be a screening for select audiences. Plans are in place to promote the film internationally, with the intention of showcasing it at major global film festivals.
After its festival run, the film’s theatrical release will be determined. Abir Gulaal is expected to hit Indian theaters sometime in the later half of 2025.
In the film, Fawad Khan plays the role of a UK-based chef, while Vaani Kapoor stars alongside him. Lisa Hayden is also part of the cast.
Co-produced by Vivek B. Agarwal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy, Abir Gulaal promises to bring a fresh and exciting addition to the romantic comedy genre.
The film has generated significant buzz among fans, particularly due to Fawad Khan’s return to the Bollywood scene after following the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was his last Bollywood project before the ban on Pakistani artists in India.
