His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, crowned the first hope maker in the Arab world, Moroccan Ahmed Zenoun, on Sunday, and honored the two winners, Samar Nadeem and Khadija Al Qarti, during the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the largest initiative of its kind in the Arab world to honour those who give.
The event took place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, where the winner receives a financial reward of Dhs 1 million.
The closing ceremony reviewed inspiring humanitarian stories of a number of hope makers in the Arab world, who have dedicated their efforts and resources to serving their communities, by implementing innovative initiatives and projects that have contributed to improving people’s lives and establishing a culture of giving and social solidarity, in the presence of a large number of stars, artists, intellectuals, media professionals, and social media celebrities in the Arab world, in addition to a group of well-known figures in charitable and humanitarian work in the UAE.
The jury of the “Hope Makers” initiative, which includes a group of experts and specialists, selected the finalists based on the positive impact achieved by the owners of these initiatives in their communities.
The committee evaluated each nomination according to specific criteria that include the topic of the initiative and the challenges associated with it, its role in creating real and tangible change, and its ability to reach the target segment.
