A state-of-the-art private aviation facility, built to LEED Gold standards, is set to open in Q1 2027, catering to elite travellers and the $3.9 billion integrated gaming resort.
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – In a major boost to its luxury tourism and aviation sectors, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RAK Airport) has announced the development of a new, high-spec VVIP terminal and private jet hangar. The project, unveiled at the Dubai Airshow, is strategically timed to serve high-net-worth visitors heading to the emirate’s beach resorts and the highly anticipated $3.9-billion Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort, scheduled to open in early 2027.
Developed in partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment, the new Fixed Base Operation (FBO) facility will include a 1,500sqm terminal and an 8,000sqm multi-purpose hangar. The terminal will be equipped with a Royal lounge, four VVIP lounges, and premium hospitality areas.
Airside facilities are designed for ultimate convenience and luxury, featuring a helipad, ample aircraft parking, and space designated for emerging vertical mobility solutions, such as air taxis. The adjacent hangar will be capable of servicing a range of private jets, including ultra-long-range aircraft, and will provide comprehensive maintenance and operational support.
Highlighting the project’s significance, Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah’s Department of Civil Aviation, stated the facility will strengthen the emirate’s infrastructure and enhance its ability to welcome “high-value visitors, investors and partners.”
A key focus of the project is sustainability. The facility is designed to meet the prestigious LEED Gold standard, incorporating features such as solar power to offset 35% of its energy consumption, fully electric ground support equipment, and compatibility with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
With construction set to take 15 months, the new VVIP terminal and hangar are on track for an opening in the first quarter of 2027, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a premier destination for private aviation in the region.
