The American captured his fourth LIV Golf title after a weather-delayed final round, defeating Richard T. Lee on the first playoff hole following a costly two-foot miss at Sentosa Golf Club.
SINGAPORE – [City, Date of Publication] – In a final round defined by torrential rain and high tension, Bryson DeChambeau emerged victorious at the LIV Golf Singapore tournament, clinching the title on the first playoff hole against Canada’s Richard T. Lee.
The sudden-death showdown at Sentosa Golf Club ended in dramatic—and heartbreaking—fashion when Lee missed a two-foot par putt, handing the win to DeChambeau.
“It’s a lot of emotions right now,” said DeChambeau, securing his fourth individual title on the LIV circuit. “Good emotion, struggling emotion, everything you could possibly imagine. But mostly, a lot of joy.”
How the Final Round Unfolded
The final day was a battle against the elements as much as the leaderboard, with play halted twice due to rain. Lee entered the clubhouse hot, finishing with a five-under 66 to set the clubhouse lead at 10-under total. DeChambeau, playing in the final group, matched him with a clutch birdie on the par-5 18th to force a playoff at 14-under.
On the decisive playoff hole:
- DeChambeau’s drive found the water hazard left of the fairway.
- Lee found the fairway bunker but laid up, leaving his approach 10 feet from the pin.
- DeChambeau’s third shot landed just off the green.
- Lee’s putt for par rolled just past the cup, sealing the victory for DeChambeau.
“You never want to win that way. I’ll be the first to admit that,” DeChambeau said. “Golf is a fickle game. I didn’t like seeing it happen to him.”
Lee, the league’s first Canadian player and a Wild Card entry, reflected on the moment with grace. “It was a short putt, and I wanted to hit it hard. Adrenaline was pumping, and I hit it a little too hard. I felt like I had it this week. Hopefully, next week I can try again.”
4Aces Dominate Team Competition
While the individual title went to DeChambeau, the team trophy belonged to Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC. For the second consecutive week in Asia, Johnson’s revamped 2026 lineup—featuring Thomas Pieters, Thomas Detry, and Anthony Kim—proved unstoppable, finishing at 27-under to claim the team title.
“The league gets better every single year. It gets harder to win,” Johnson noted. “You’ve got to have four really good players to have a chance. Right now, I feel like we do.”
Notable Performances
- Lee Westwood, returning from a wrist injury, made his first final-group appearance of the season, shooting a 69 to secure solo third.
- Joaquin Niemann, who led before the final rain delay, faded to solo fourth after three post-delay bogeys.
- Jon Rahm rounded out the top five with a solid performance for Legion XIII, who finished third in the team standings.
