Social media buzzes as actress’ mother shares glimpses of intimate nuptials; rapper’s second marriage comes amid ongoing legal troubles over controversial song.
Speculation is rife that Indian rapper Badshah has tied the knot with Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi after photos and a video of what appear to be their wedding ceremonies surfaced on social media.
The posts, shared by Rikhi’s mother, Poonam Rikhi, on Instagram, show the couple dressed in traditional bridal attire. Isha is seen in a red ensemble, while Badshah—whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh—wears a green kurta with vertical golden stripes.
“God bless you 🙌 🧿❤️ @isharikhi @badboyshah,” Poonam captioned the post.
A video accompanying the images shows the pair exchanging garlands and celebrating with friends and family, suggesting the ceremony was a private affair. Neither Badshah nor Rikhi has publicly commented on the relationship or the wedding speculation.
If confirmed, this would mark the rapper’s second marriage. He was previously married to Jasmine Masih in 2012; the couple had a daughter in 2017 before divorcing in 2020.
In 2024, Badshah was romantically linked to Pakistani actress Hania Aamir after they were spotted together at his concert in Dubai. The rapper dismissed the rumors at the time, stating they were “good friends.”
A Career Amid Controversy
The wedding rumors arrive at a turbulent moment for the rapper, who is currently embroiled in a legal controversy over his latest Haryanvi-language track, Tateeree.
Last week, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted Badshah interim protection from arrest after two first information reports (FIRs) were filed against him in Haryana over the song’s allegedly objectionable lyrics. The situation intensified when the Haryana State Commission for Women sought his arrest following his failure to appear before it despite multiple summons.
According to India Today, a lookout notice issued against the rapper is now expected to be withdrawn.
Badshah emerged as a leading figure in the Punjabi hip-hop scene alongside contemporaries such as Honey Singh and Diljit Dosanjh. His breakthrough came with Saturday Saturday, featured in the Bollywood film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
His other notable Bollywood tracks include Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai from Khoobsurat and Proper Patola from Namaste England. Beyond music, Badshah has served as a judge on reality television shows including MTV Hustle, Indian Idol, Dil Hai Hindustani, India’s Got Talent, and India’s Got Latent.
As wedding photos continue to circulate widely, fans await official confirmation from the pair amid a swirl of personal and professional headlines.
