Incident marks 12th civilian death in UAE since start of US-Israel-Iran conflict, as authorities report rising number of intercepted projectiles.
FUJAIRAH — A Bangladeshi national was killed on Wednesday when debris from a successful drone interception by UAE air defence forces fell onto a farm in Fujairah, officials have confirmed.
The incident adds to a mounting toll from the regional conflict, raising the total number of fatalities in the UAE to 12 since the onset of the US-Israel-Iran war. According to authorities, the majority of deaths have resulted from falling debris following interceptions of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Among the deceased are two Emirati armed forces members who were killed in the line of duty, as well as a Moroccan civilian working under contract with the military. The remaining casualties include nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.
In an update on Tuesday, UAE authorities reported that a total of 188 individuals have been injured since the conflict began. Air defence forces have been actively engaged, intercepting 12 missiles and 36 UAVs in a single day.
The UAE government has reiterated its commitment to protecting civilian infrastructure and public safety as it continues to manage aerial threats amid the ongoing regional escalation.
