One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school is its annual concert day. Great excitement and hurried activities are visible all around. The prize-winners and those who are participating in the cultural programme to be presented on that day are especially elated. Even those who are not actively, involved are excited to have a study-free day in school, filled with fun, frolic and amusement.
Such an exciting event called the Annual Concert was held on 1 December’2018, by Beacon House School system in Bahria Auditorium, Karachi, Pakistan. The Classes of 4s and 5s participated. A lot of parents and guest came to attend this colourful event. Most of the auditorium was filled. The program started with the recitation of holy verses (Quran) followed by the national anthem of Pakistan.
After the national anthem, the headmistress delivers a speech, in which she first welcomes the guest and parents and then details the highlights of the School Annual Concert event then a song was sung by the Choir. The event was followed by the announcement of the host for the first play.
Some of the programs were on 48 hours offline concept presented by class 4d and 4c. It was presented with an idea about what would happen if adults stopped using electronics for 48 hours??? For example no communication, no socializing. Another program with the great concept was presented by the student’s of class 5e and 5f named Oh…. Look a sidetrack. This program story was based on a boy and a girl who was a brother and sister named Emma and Daniel. After every play, there was a song sung by the choir tracked by an Urdu play. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. When Class 4 and 5s were finished from their performances, the concert for class 6 began. Melodious songs are sung and drama items are presented and one sees the hard work, the students have put in during the rehearsals, reaching its culmination. The function ends with the vote of thanks to the guest and the parents for sparing their valuable time.
