Launched in Mandarin Oriental Dubai, Sublimotion offers a theatrical dinner experience, a 10-course meal, live performances and 360-degree screens with surround imagery.
The restaurant only seats 12 diners at a time, each seat priced at AED5,000.
The experience is set in a roofless box with a long table seating 12 guests with each guest’s name projected onto the table. The whole dining show lasts two hours.
Food descends from the ceiling, projections, lighting and expert attention to detail is what a diner can expect from the experience.
Season two of the experience will run a different show from season one, season two of the dining experience will also have a AED5,000 package with unlimited premium beverages and a non-alcoholic package option at AED3,500 per person.
The concept was launched in Ibiza in 2014 by chef Paco Roncero, chef and owner of two Michelin-starred Paco Roncero Restaurante in Madrid, before making its way to Dubai, last year.
“Diners are welcomed into the exciting world of molecular gastronomy and haute cuisine where innovation, art and technology combine to create dramatic culinary delights in an original and compelling atmosphere,” the Mandarin Oriental website states.
The whole experience has a crew of 25 designers, engineers, stage directors, composers, illusionists, and actors, working to deliver the two hour dining performance.
