Developers behind the Spider-Man 2 video game were left “extremely distressed” by a huge ransomware attack on the company.
PlayStation studio Insomniac said its team was “saddened and angered” by the recent “criminal cyberattack”.
Employee data, company emails and early details of an upcoming Wolverine game were among sensitive stolen info published by a hacking group.
In a statement, the studio thanked fans for their “overwhelming” support.
Insomniac said it had waited several days to release a statement to allow its team to “support each other” after the “emotional toll” of the hack.
It said it was working quickly to assess the extent of the damage, but that upcoming PS5 exclusive Wolverine “continues as planned”.
“The game is in production and will no doubt evolve throughout development, as do all our plans,” it said.
“We will share official information about Marvel’s Wolverine when the time is right.”
Fellow games developers, journalists and fans have condemned the cyberattack, urging others not to share or republish any of the content.
Ransomware group Rhysida has claimed responsibility, and it also said it was behind a similar attack on the British Library last month.
The method uses malicious software to infect a company’s computer network and lock its files, demanding payment for them to be restored.
