The Israeli Air Force targeted two key sites used to develop long-range cruise missiles capable of striking targets at sea and on land, marking the latest escalation between the two rivals.
Jerusalem: The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that it had struck a naval cruise missile production facility operating under Iran’s Ministry of Defense in Tehran.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Israeli Air Force, acting on military intelligence, targeted two key naval cruise missile production sites in the Iranian capital “in recent days.”
The facility was used to “develop and manufacture long-range naval cruise missiles, which are capable of rapidly destroying targets at sea and on land,” the military said in a statement.
The strikes “represent another step in deepening the damage done to the regime’s military production infrastructure,” the IDF added.
There was no immediate comment from Iranian authorities regarding the reported strikes.
The operation marks the latest escalation in the long-running shadow conflict between Israel and Iran, which have increasingly moved toward direct confrontation in recent months amid heightened regional tensions.
