No new rules for UAE tourism visas
Muhammad Riaz Usman:
There is no change in the requirement for the UAE tourists visas as all visa applications are being filed and approved normally, tour operators and travel agents said.
They added that there was a temporary pause for a couple of days as some new documents were asked to submit along with new visa applications.
Yasir from Al Masa Tour told DNTV that the decision is revoked and visa applications are being submitted as per normal procedure.
“A circular was issued couple of days back and we were unable to submit the visa applications. But the decision is revoked and the business is coming back to normal,” he said.
Faisal Hussain Awan, founder and CEO of Dubai-based Al Ghazi Travel and Tourism, welcomed the withdrawal of decision and said that without further documentation and complicated procedures more and more tourists would be attracted to the country.
“It is the right step in the right direction in the wake of a slowdown in global economy,” he said.
“Allowing all the nationalities to the UAE will spur the tourism in the country. We are expecting a busy season despite some additional travel conditions because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It will help businesses and travel agents that ultimately benefits the economy,” he added.
The additional documents for applying a tourist visa were: a ‘commitment letter of return’ and ‘bank statement of last six months’ for the general tourist visa. In case of family and friend visits, ‘proof of addresses’ of family/friend and Emirates ID acquaintances, were also required to be submitted along with the visa application.
