In a Fox News interview, the Israeli leader describes the current campaign as “the gateway to peace” and expresses confidence in a lasting resolution for the region.
WASHINGTON – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Monday that the ongoing military campaign against Iran, conducted in coordination with the United States, will not become a protracted conflict, describing it instead as a necessary path toward lasting regional peace.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity” program, Netanyahu sought to frame the current escalation not as an open-ended quagmire, but as a decisive intervention with a clear endpoint.
“This is not an endless war, this is the gateway to peace,” Netanyahu told host Sean Hannity.
When pressed directly on whether he believed a lasting peace in the Middle East was achievable, the Prime Minister responded unequivocally: “Yes, I do.”
A ‘Gateway to Peace’
Netanyahu’s remarks appear designed to reassure both domestic and international audiences that the recent strikes—launched in response to Iranian aggression and the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—are part of a finite strategy rather than the beginning of an indefinite regional war.
The interview marks one of the first times Netanyahu has publicly characterized the scope and duration of the campaign since the conflict escalated dramatically over the weekend. His emphasis on “quick and decisive action” suggests a desire to prevent mission creep as Israeli and US forces operate in multiple theaters.
The comments come amid heavy fighting on multiple fronts, including ongoing operations in Gaza, strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and direct action against Iranian targets.
