Evren Ozka runs nearly 900km across three nations in one month, raising funds for Dubai Cares and breaking personal barriers.
DUBAI — In an extraordinary feat of endurance, entrepreneur and ultra-distance runner Evren Ozka has set a new record by crossing the United Arab Emirates on foot in just 5 days, 11 hours, and 19 minutes.
The 630-kilometer UAE run — completed on National Day — was the final and longest leg of a month-long challenge that also saw Ozka break running records in Qatar and Bahrain. In total, he covered nearly 900 kilometers across the three Gulf countries, all while raising funds for Dubai Cares to support global children’s education.
A Gulf Triple Record
Ozka began his grueling month with a 192km run across Qatar, completed in 26 hours and 30 minutes. He followed this with 68.5km in Bahrain in 11 hours and 26 minutes, before embarking on the marathon UAE crossing — surpassing his own previous UAE record by over 11 hours.
The UAE segment proved the most demanding, requiring days of continuous movement with minimal rest amid physical exhaustion, mental strain, and shifting weather.
Running with Purpose
Beyond the athletic achievement, the challenge was deeply personal for Ozka, who years ago struggled to run even a single kilometer. His transformation into an ultra-endurance athlete reflects years of dedication.
“This wasn’t just about running across countries or breaking records,” Ozka said. “It was about proving who I’ve become… It’s proof that anyone can rewrite their life if they start and push.”
Community Support
Throughout his journey, Ozka was joined by supporters and fellow runners, including members of the LFG community in the UAE, Puma athlete Coach Biha in Qatar, and the Bahrain Warriors in Bahrain. He completed all runs wearing PUMA footwear.
The initiative has drawn attention to the cause of education accessibility, with funds directed to Dubai Cares’ worldwide programs.
