ABU DHABI (WAM) — Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, stated that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, has prioritised women and children, and aims to empower them in the community, provide them with care and advancement, and offer them exceptional giving, earning the respect and appreciation of everyone in the country, the region and the entire world.
In her speech during the introductory meeting of the Consultative Council for Children, which was held yesterday at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Dr. Al Qubaisi added that the leading social and family initiatives of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak are still achieving remarkable successes.
She also pointed out that Sheikha Fatima’s directives to establish the council will continue the legacy of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as well as ingrain awareness and confidence in the minds and souls of children, which will enable them to make decisions and improve their capabilities, knowledge, talents and skills, to achieve the goals of the National Strategy for Motherhood and Childhood.
Dr. Al Qubaisi added that the council aims to create national awareness and encourage good citizenship among children, reflecting the vision of the wise leadership and the UAE’s international pioneering, which will strengthen its competitiveness in various sustainable development indexes, especially related to human development.
The FNC Speaker said that the council aims to help children with exceptional talents and people of determination, highlighting the efforts of Sheikha Fatima to support people of determination while pointing out that this segment of the community has always been supported by Sheikha Fatima, which is proven by her strategic plan for ensuring the rights of people of determination that was launched in March 2017.
She explained that the FNC values and welcomes this pioneering initiative while affirming that the UAE has exceeded the stage of protecting the rights of the family, women and children, by creating a system of constitutional commitments and legal legislation, and joining international agreements and treaties related to women’s and children’s rights, which has made it a pioneering international model of women’s empowerment and children’s care, and has strengthened its pioneering, excellence and competitiveness in sustainable development indexes.
