She reminded the public that health updates are personal, not a stage for judgement
Actress Soha Ali Khan has publicly addressed the online backlash surrounding her brother Saif Ali Khan’s swift recovery following a recent attack, calling out those questioning the severity of his injuries.
Saif, who was attacked at his Bandra home in the early hours of 16 January, underwent spinal and plastic surgery at Lilavati Hospital. Following his discharge, the actor was seen walking unassisted, which led some on social media to cast doubt over the extent of his injuries.
In a recent media interaction, Soha expressed her frustration, saying such commentary lacks empathy.
She stated that “But yes, I do get angry when people comment without having any information. They don’t have any emotions attached, so where do these passionate opinions come from?”
She further added that “When it doesn’t affect their personal lives, why do they get so interested? That is beyond my understanding.
I don’t think about it much, because I know that people like to talk and they will. It doesn’t hold a lot of meaning, so we should end this discussion here,”
Saif’s sister Saba Pataudi had also addressed the criticism, posting a video from a medical professional who explained that patients—including elderly individuals—can walk soon after major surgeries. Saba captioned the video with a call to “educate yourself”.
Professionally, Soha is currently seen in the supernatural thriller “Chhorii 2” on Amazon Prime Video. Saif Ali Khan will next appear in the Netflix heist film “Jewel Thief”, set to premiere on 25 April 2025.
