Strong winds hit parts of UAE, lowest temperature recorded at 15°C

On Tuesday, several areas in the UAE experienced strong northwesterly winds with speeds amounting to 40 kilometres/h, due to the impact of weak surface pressure systems and an upper-air high-pressure extension, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Tuesday was 15°C in Rakna, Al Ain, at 06:15am, the NCM reported.

Wednesday’s weather is predicted to be generally clear with occasional partial cloud cover and humid during the night and early Thursday morning in some northern coastal and inland areas, with a chance of light fog formation.

Winds, according to the NCM will be northwesterly to southwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally active, stirring dust at daytime, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 kilometres/h, amounting to 40 kilometres/h and the sea will be moderate, occasionally rough, in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Sea of Oman.

Thursday’s weather will be generally clear with occasional partial cloud cover and low clouds appearing in the east, with a gradual rise in temperatures and humid during the night and early on Friday morning in some coastal areas.

Winds will be northwesterly, shifting to southeasterly, light to moderate, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 kilometres/h, amounting to 30 kilometres/h and the sea will be light in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather will be generally clear with occasional partial cloud cover and low clouds appearing in the east, the NCM predicted, adding that winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, occasionally active, stirring dust at daytime, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 kilometres/h, amounting to 35 kilometres/h and the sea will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.

Saturday’s weather, according to the NCM will be generally clear with occasional partial cloud cover and low clouds appearing in the east.

Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 kilometres/h, amounting to 30 kilometres/h and the sea will be light to occasionally moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the NCM reported.
