The Federal Tax Authority introduces tailored support, priority access, and simplified procedures to enhance the tax compliance experience for the elderly.
The UAE’s Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has unveiled the Labaih Initiative, a dedicated program designed to streamline tax procedures and provide customised support for senior citizens.
The initiative aims to help elderly taxpayers complete applications, meet compliance obligations, and exercise their rights with greater ease, efficiency, and privacy.
FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani stated that the move aligns with national directives to ensure the highest levels of care and quality of life for senior citizens, who represent a valued pillar of UAE society.
“This initiative reflects our appreciation for their longstanding contributions to the community and the nation’s development,” he said.
Through Labaih, eligible seniors will benefit from a suite of tailored services, including:
- A Direct Line to a specialised support team for queries and request follow-up.
- Priority access via the FTA Call Centre and Fast-Track service at Taxpayer Support Centres.
- Electronic access to documents online, reducing the need for in-person visits.
- Customised awareness workshops and guidance suitable for their needs.
Al Bustani emphasised that the initiative underscores the FTA’s commitment to a tax environment that respects privacy, reduces effort, and enhances well-being—key components of the UAE’s social care vision.
The services will be delivered through the FTA’s existing Call Centre and Taxpayer Support Centres, reinforcing the authority’s strategy to promote voluntary compliance through collaboration and responsive service design.
