ABU DHABI – High-level diplomatic talks aimed at halting the war in Ukraine are scheduled to resume next week in the United Arab Emirates, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Sunday.
The two-day negotiations between envoys from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are set to commence in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, February 4.
“The dates for the next trilateral meetings have been set – February 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi,” Zelensky stated in a post on the social media platform X. “Ukraine is ready for a substantive discussion, and we are interested in ensuring that the outcome brings us closer to a real and dignified end to the war.”
The upcoming discussions mark a significant step in international efforts to mediate a resolution to the nearly two-year-old conflict. While previous rounds of talks have yielded little progress, Zelensky’s public announcement underscores Kyiv’s readiness to engage in serious diplomacy.
Abu Dhabi, which has maintained communication channels with both Moscow and Kyiv, provides a neutral venue for the sensitive negotiations. The international community will be closely watching for any signs of a potential breakthrough toward de-escalation.
