UN delegation praises Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s efforts to promote Emirati women
HE Anita Bhatia, Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Executive Director of Human Resources and Sustainability Department at UN-Women, praised the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and President of the Family Development Foundation for the Advancement of Emirati Women.
HE Noura Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Women’s Union, said during a meeting with the UN delegation in the presence of Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Executive Director of the UN Women Office in Abu Dhabi, that women in the UAE enjoy all their functional and social rights.
She said that the enjoyment of these rights by Emirati women is due to the guidance of the wise leadership and the follow-up and attention of HH the Emir of the UAE, which supports women in everything that benefits them in their present and future.
The Director of the Women’s Union reviewed the features of the National Strategy for Women, which the Union is working to implement and the most important achievements in the field of women’s empowerment by contributing periodically and effectively by reviewing the legislation on women and the development and development of their abilities, and in the area of community service in general and women in particular. Ghalia Al Mannai, Director of the Center for Development of Innovation and Innovation, gave a presentation on the programs, events and activities of the General Women’s Union, adding that the progress achieved by Emirati women in various fields and developmental sectors in the country was thanks to the wise leadership of women and the follow-up of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. Her Excellency Anita Bhatia then visited Al Jawhara Hall, where she was briefed on a number of honors and shields obtained by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak from the leaders of states, institutions and local and international bodies, in recognition of her role in supporting humanitarian and charitable causes and advancing Emirati women to participate in the development of their society.
Her Excellency Anita visited Jannati Nursery at the General Women’s Union, one of the most important facilities of the Union, which aims to provide the best programs and services in international standards and seeks to introduce modern programs and activities that serve children.
She also visited the Heritage Tent in the General Women’s Union, where she was briefed on a live presentation of the UAE‘s heritage works such as Talli and Sadu and learned about the efforts made by the General Women’s Union in preserving the country’s heritage.
