ECB’s Knot says rate cut in first half of next year unlikely

It is “rather unlikely” that the European Central Bank will cut rates during the first six months of next year as it first needs to see data about wage settlements, ECB policymaker Klaas Knot said in an interview published on Wednesday.

“Based on the information available today, I think it is rather unlikely,” the Dutch central bank governor said in response to a question from German financial daily Boersen-Zeitung.
