In a display of swift action, the crew of Emirates Airline flight EK614 from Dubai, UAE, to Islamabad, Pakistan, on the morning of February 25th, subdued an aggressive drunk passenger. The inebriated elite traveller is stated to be the son of a top ranking official serving in one of Pakistan’s private airlines, owned by a top-notch politician of Pakistan.
The individual, reportedly an affluent traveller whose identity remains undisclosed officially, but known to DubaiNews.TV, exhibited disruptive behavior spurred by a political debate, prompting concern among passengers and crew aboard the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, registered as A6-ENI.

The incident took place on Emirates flight EK614 during the night between February 24 and 25, spanning the two-and-a-half-hour journey to Islamabad. The aircraft touched down in Islamabad at approximately 1:20 am on February 25, and the inebriated passenger was assisted off the plane in a wheelchair.
Fellow passengers said they were ‘terrified’ by the rampage and avoided walking past the flier amid fears he could attack them. One said: ‘The drunk guy was extremely violent. He was restrained and handcuffed by Emirates cabin crew but I think Pakistan authorities let him go as he was well connected.’
Passengers recounted their apprehension during the incident, highlighting the professionalism and courage displayed by the Emirates crew in managing the situation effectively. However, concerns have arisen regarding the individual’s purported connections, which some speculate may influence legal repercussions.
Earlier, Khaleej Times reported that the man was alleged to have been “drunk” and “extremely violent,” according to a passenger on-board. Cabin crew on an Emirates flight between Dubai and Islamabad forced to tackle a drunk passenger after he allegedly became violent during the two-and-a-half-hour flight.
An online video has emerged depicting a flight crew member of Emirates Airlines managing an unruly passenger in the business class of the flight. The Emirates cabin crew faced a challenging situation in dealing with a violent, intoxicated passenger.

Social media circulated video footage revealing cabin crew members using flex-cuffs to restrain the disruptive passenger, who had exhibited violent behaviour during the flight. The crew successfully subdued the individual, employing black flexi-cuffs provided by fellow crew members. Despite attempts to pacify and sober the individual with water, reports indicate that the passenger continued to display disruptive behaviour.
In the footage, the man can be seen attempting to headbutt a male member of the flight crew before being pushed to the floor with the assistance of another. A female flight attendant can then be seen passing them a pair of cable ties commonly used by airlines to restrain potentially violent passengers.
Another angle then shows the man on the floor being held down by the two male flight attendants while two female flight attendants appear to restrain his legs with cable ties.
In the second clip, the man sits hunched over in a wheelchair in a sky bridge with his hands tied behind his back while a male flight attendant appears to be attaching his legs to the wheelchair. “Drink some water,” a passer-by is heard telling him.
While the disruptive actions instilled fear among fellow passengers, there are indications that the individual possessed influential connections, potentially allowing him to evade criminal charges.
Instances of disruptive behaviour aboard flights pose significant challenges to airlines and crew members alike, jeopardising the safety and comfort of passengers and crew.
In response, many airlines prioritise comprehensive training programmes to equip their staff with the tools and techniques needed to manage unruly incidents with professionalism and efficiency.
Emirates crew receives Taekwondo training to learn how to effectively restrain passengers in such cases.
Drinks are available inside the departure lounge at the Dubai International Airport and in bars and restaurants throughout the city.
While requests for official statements from Emirates Airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and the Airport Security Force (ASF) remain unanswered at the time of publication, the incident underscores the importance of proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew aboard commercial flights.
