The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) has announced a 3-day campaign at Deira City Centre in the UAE for individuals with visa-related problems in the Emirates. The ‘A Homeland for All’ campaign, which will run from February 25th to February 27th, is aimed at helping residents, visitors, and tourists who are experiencing visa issues, including those with expired permits or documents and individuals who have overstayed their visas.

From 10 am to 10 pm, GDRFA representatives will be stationed at a stall near Centerpoint in Deira City Centre to offer assistance. The goal of the campaign, according to a GDRFA social media post, is to promote compliance with entry and residence laws. Lt-Col Salem bin Ali, the Director of the Client Happiness Department at GDRFA, has asked the individuals to approach the stall without fear. He stated in an Instagram story that “even if you have overstayed for 10 years, our staff will find a solution for you.”

Overstaying the permitted visa period in the UAE incurs a fine of Dh50 per day. This also applies to visa cancellations and can result in significant penalties. According to GDRFA, the campaign offers an opportunity for individuals to resolve visa-related issues.

The campaign aims to encourage individuals to comply with the law and avoid penalties while also demonstrating the government’s willingness to assist individuals in resolving their visa issues. The initiative is a significant step in addressing the needs of the people and ensuring that everyone in the UAE has a comfortable and secure living experience.
