LAHORE (21 September 2025): The Executive Body of the Public Relations Practitioners Welfare Association (PRPWA), Punjab, held its meeting at a local hotel in Gulberg-III, Lahore, under the chairmanship of General Secretary Karamat Ali.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the Association’s upcoming general elections, membership expansion, and digital outreach initiatives. It was decided that the Election Commission will present a detailed plan for the polls in the next monthly meeting, during which the official election date will also be announced. The scrutiny committee, headed by Abid Saeed, submitted its report, which was highly appreciated by members. The shortlisted candidates were unanimously approved by the executive body.

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary Karamat Ali reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to transparent and inclusive elections. “We want to strengthen the role of PR professionals by giving them an active platform,” he emphasized.
The body also resolved to register supporting alliances and corporate clients as honorary members, while retired public relations professionals will be awarded lifetime membership.

Highlighting the importance of digital presence, PRPWA President Athar Hassan Awan announced sponsorship for the development of the Association’s official website. “In today’s communication era, digital presence is critical. Activating our social media platforms will enable us to connect with PR professionals nationwide,” he said.
A registration drive committee was also formed to compile a database of active PR professionals in consultation with pioneer members. To support this initiative, an introductory brochure will be jointly prepared by the General Secretary and Finance Secretary for review in the next meeting. The next Executive Body meeting has been scheduled for October 11, 2025.

The Executive Body also offered Fateha on the sad demise of the elder brother of Mehar Abdul Rauf, and for the uncle of General Secretary Karamat Ali and the aunt of Dr. Khurram Shahzad. The members prayed for the forgiveness and eternal peace of the departed souls and for their highest place in Jannah.

The meeting was attended by senior PR professionals including Dr. Syed Nadeem-ul-Hassan Gillani, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Mr. Athar Hassan Awan, Mr. Abid Saeed, Syed Ejaz-ul-Hussain, Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Mr. Iftikhar Rasool, Syed Ali Bukhari, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary, Mr. Shaukat Ali, Ms. Lubna Babar, Mr. Kamran Malik, Mr. Ali Raza, Mr. Mehar Abdul Rauf, Mr. Karamat Ali, and Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Hashmi.
