Rashid Center for People of Determination marks 30th anniversary

The celebrations were held under the patronage of Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Managing Director of the Rashid Center for People of Determination and also attended by Ahmed Hashem Khoury, Member of the Federal National Council, Maryam Othman, Director General of the Rashid Center for People of Determination, and a group of sponsors and supporters of the Center, businessmen, and a group of VIPs who have contributed to supporting the Center and its progress since its launch in 1994.
On the sideline of the main celebrations, an art exhibition was also held with a large number of artworks displayed. The evening was also enjoyed with the performances of Egyptian artist Laila Elwi, Safia Al-Omari, the Emirati artist Dr. Habib Ghuloum, Abdullah Balkhair, the Syrian artist Suzan Najm Al-Din and her compatriot Khaled Al-Qish, the artist Shajoun Al-Hajri, the Kuwaiti artist Hoda Hussein, besides others.
In his opening remarks, Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum confirmed that the Rashid Center for People of Determination maintains a rich history of successes. He said: “Over the course of three decades, the Center has succeeded in consolidating its position as a prestigious destination for training and qualifying people of determination. Over the past years, it has been able to establish an innovative work system and make qualitative leaps in the fields of training and qualifying people of determination.
It has also contributed to preserving and preserving their rights and highlighting their image, which active role on the local scene and its ability to convey the voice of people of determination to all segments of society.”
He further said that the center is continuing its steps forward, and is currently working on implementing a group of qualitative projects and initiatives that reflect the bright face of the Emirates, and are consistent with Dubai’s aspirations and ambitions to be as a completely friendly city for people of determination, praising at the same time the efforts of those in charge of the Rashid Centre, and expressing his aspiration for its continuity in the right direction by supporting people of determination.
Ahmed Hashem Khoury, pointed out in his speech that the Rashid Center for People of Determination has not stopped achieving remarkable achievements and successes over the course of 30 years. He said, “We began our journey with aspirations as big as the horizon, but soon the Rashid Center for People of Determination gained the support and backing of their Highnesses the Sheikhs, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, from whose wisdom we draw inspiration.
Our steps and outlook towards the future, and we learn from him how to climb the peaks and always be in first place.” He added: “The Rashid Center has become a role model in the region, due to our insistence on creating an educational environment capable of giving people of determination the care they need, and innovative rehabilitation and training programs that open wide horizons for them and elevate their talents and capabilities, which has turned many of them into role models.”
Inspiring, capable of enhancing their positive image in society, and this would not have been possible without the support of our wise leadership, which through its ambitious vision, strategies and legislation contributed to giving opportunities to people of determination, providing a decent life for them and their families, and worked to raise the level of their quality of life like the rest of the community.
Contribute to enabling them to participate in building the nation.” However, different groups of people of determination from Rashid Centre and mainstream artists performed a number of tableaus to highlight and raise awareness of the issues related to people of determination, and the necessity of caring for them and protecting and preserving their rights.
Earlier, the celebrations were started with the presenting of the song ‘The Face of Time,’ dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, based on the Center’s keenness to Promoting the values of loyalty and belonging to the wise leadership.
The song presented by artist Arwa and written by the poet Dr. Muhammad Badhib and composed by Awad Bin Sahib. During the celebration, Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum honored a large number of the Center’s sponsors and supporters, in addition to a large group of institutions, local and federal government departments, private sector companies, and friends of the Center who contributed to supporting its long journey.
