Sharjah announces free public parking on Sunday on Prophet’s birthday

Sharjah Municipality announced that users of public parking in Sharjah will be exempted from fees on Sunday, September 15, 2024, on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, with the exception of public parking spaces subject to fees throughout the week and on official holidays.
This decision excludes public parking spaces subject to fees throughout the week and on official holidays that can be identified by the blue signboard.
The authorities clarified to a resident who asked, “Free on blue zones.”
The municipality responded with an Instagram comment, “No, on all days of the week, including holidays, as clearly stated in the announcement.”
The authorities have urged members of the public to abide by the traffic laws to avoid being fined for violations.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Sunday, 15th September, 2024 (12th Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446H), will be a paid public holiday for private sector employees in observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
The decision aligns with the UAE Cabinet Resolution regarding official public holidays for the public and private sectors for 2024.
On this occasion, MoHRE extended its sincere congratulations and best wishes to the UAE’s leadership, as well as to the citizens and residents of the UAE.
