Sultan Al Neyadi, the UAE astronaut, made significant progress in experiments and research at the International Space Station (ISS) to accomplish his scientific mission with the help and support of other crew members.
Al Neyadi, who has completed a month in space, shared his experience about the historic journey and said he proudly carry forth Zayed’s ambitions into the space.
“From Earth to space, I proudly carry forth Zayed’s Ambition,” Al Neyadi tweeted.
The history-making space traveller landed at the ISS on March 3 after blasting off in a spacecraft from Nasa’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
The Emirati astronaut will spend 6 months in what will be the Arab world’s longest space mission. He will see experiments ranging from human cell growth in space to controlling combustible materials in microgravity.
“A month ago, we launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida and began our journey into space. Since then, we have witnessed more than 450 sunrises and sunsets, and made significant progress in the experiments and research for our mission. United with my crew, we continue to work towards achieving our scientific goals,” according to Al Neyadi tweet.

Al Neyadi, 41, is the second Emirati to fly to space after Hazza Al Mansouri who spent eight days on the ISS in 2019. He is also the first Emirati to launch from US soil as part of a long-duration space station team.
Over the past one month, Al Neyadi has shown the world his day-day tasks and educated many of us about microgravity and basics of space exploration.
On Saturday, the Emirati astronaut shared photos showing him separating oxygen from hydrogen to obtain air to breathe, and refining previously used water and other liquids to obtain clean water again aboard the ISS.
“Water is a precious resource in space. It is used to create clean air by separating oxygen from hydrogen, and it is also recycled to provide a continuous supply of clean water,” Al Neyadi wrote on Twitter.

After the successful launch of space mission last month, the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “I join the nation in congratulating Sultan Al Neyadi as he begins his pioneering mission aboard the International Space Station.”
“His inspiring achievement is a source of great pride to the UAE and another milestone in the journey of our nation and the ambitions of our people.”

Nasa said astronaut Al Neyadi and his Crew-6 colleagues have started to work on their tasks aboard the ISS.
The crew will spend six months on the station, where they will conduct more than 200 science experiments and technology demonstrations, according to SpaceX.
